Accessible Community Engagement: Involving People with Disabilities

This workshop equips landscape architects and others with the knowledge and tools to ensure meaningful participation from people with disabilities. Participants will explore best practices for selecting inclusive venues, marketing events to reach diverse audiences, providing necessary accommodations, and designing accessible online and in-person engagement activities.
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Identify key considerations for choosing event locations that ensure physical and sensory accessibility for all participants.
- Develop strategies to promote events effectively to reach and engage individuals with disabilities within the community.
- Create inclusive engagement tools, including accessible surveys and participatory activities, that address a range of disabilities.
